POLITICAL HISTORY OF NEPAL

Nepal has the history of four thousand years.But modern Nepal has only the history of 250 years.National hero king Prithivi Narayan Shah started to unify nation.There were hundred of small countries including 22/24 kingdom.Thousand of people died during the course of integration.India was under British colony at that time.The fighting between English and Nepal took places and Nepal lost around 50 percent of present land on the war.

King became weak and Rana ruled the nation for more than 104 years.There were no development,no freedom during the rana system.Many people were unsatisfied with the rana rule and do revolution against them.Ran was removed on 2007 BS.The freedom of India,China helped to remove Rana.The multi-

parties democracy system took places for a decade.But King Mahendra dissolve the democratic parliyament and established Panchayat no party system.It operates for 30 years.People were unsatisfied with the Panchayat system and they were doing revolution against it for decade of times.The election for selecting Panchayat or Multiparty system were hold on 2036BS.Multiparty democracy wad defeated at the time.The revolution succeeded on 2046 BS.

The constitution of was made within 2 months and gave the constitution of kingdom of Nepal 2047.The constitution was for the multi-party democracy and constitutional monarchy.

Some group of people started fighting with the constitution on 2052BS which was the Maoist revolution.Maoist revolution caused the death of thousand of Nepalese people and finally swiped away the monarchy from Nepal.The election for the constitutional assembly were made but first assembly could not make the election.Then second election of constitutional assembly has made the new constitution and now election of different level have also been completed.The central government is of majority giving the indication of stable government.There is a rays of hope of development of the country.
